Jonas Kollberg has a long history with service providers and new exciting mobile services. Jonas works as Program Manager at the Intel Wireless Competency Center in Stockholm, with ISV- and service-enabling for Intel's new mobile client platforms. Currently his focus is on Ultra Mobile PCs and Mobile TV. Before coming to Intel, Jonas was a Product Manager at Terraplay. Terraplay produces a platform product used to enable multiplayer gaming services in a mobile environment. Earlier positions include Product Manager for LAN Interconnect services at Telia, the largest service provider in Sweden. Jonas holds a M.S in Electrical Engineering and can be reached at jonas.kollberg@intel.com

DVB-H EU standard

Just when I said it was slow...European Union yeasterday selected DVB-H as the recommended mobile TV standard. This might get things rolling? http://today.reuters.com/news/articlenews.aspx?type=technologyNews&storyid=2007-11-29T121827Z_01_L29516007_RTRUKOC_0_US-EU-TELECOMS-TELEVISION.xml This will probably crack the chicken and egg problem and get device manufacturers to launch more than one (if any) model supporting DVB-H. /Jonas

Slow progress in broadcast Mobile TV

Gallup around TV

TV everywhere. Now

Last couple of weeks I have used quite a cool setup. I have a Pinnacle PCTV to Go box on top of the settop box at home.
