Reset Lenovo T61 manageability settings to factory defaults

When you lose/forget the ME/AMT password, only way to recover from the situation is to reset the settings to factory defaults. Depending on the OEM/BIOS implementations, the path to factory defaults varies.

Lets take a look at how we can achieve this on a Lenovo T61 laptop. The following steps worked for me.

Do you have the hard drive password enabled? I am guessing that screen you are seeing is for hard drive password. If so, you will need to contact Lenovo on how to reset that password or any other tricks to get into the BIOS.

The same works on the Acer TravelMate 6592G 301G20 with the only exception - the system did not ask confirmation for finishing of unconfiguration.
