On May 20, 2008, the Intel® Software Partner Program will launch a remodeled website. Based on member feedback, we decided late last year to make major changes to our program website and to many of the key program processes that our members use to engage in the Software Partner Program to develop or optimize new software for their target market areas and to go to market. Our objective for the website remodel and for the changes to key program processes was to make it:
- Easier to read and understand
- Easier to navigate
- Easier to take advantage of program resources
- Easier to speed your software development
- Easier to take your software to market
While I think our remodel effort to the website and program processes has made great progress toward our objectives, I know there are changes that we still want to make on future releases. Yet, in the final analysis, it is you, our members, who have to feel that we have been successful at improving our (actually your) website and the program processes.
I invite you to take a tour through the remodeled website when it launches. Try it out and let me know what you think. Tell me what you like and dislike. Give me your ideas, suggestions or questions. I want to hear from you and talk to you. Visit the remodeled website

Jeff and the Partner Program Team. Congratulations on being customer driven and responding by remodeling the website. I think that the site looks good and I look forward to seeing what the Software Development Companies have to say about it. What do you think is the most improved feature? What one thing do you think makes the biggest impact to developers? Congratulations on your first blog post. I look forward to reading many more as you work to make the site even better.

Aaron:
Thanks for the congratulations. The team has put in much effort to make the website much easier for our members to use.
I think a major area of improvement is that we have tried to make it easy for members to see on each page what are the clear action oriented links. For example, now members and new visitors will see 3 blue boxes with links on both the public and member home pages that can quick take them to the appropriate planning, software project development or go-to-market resources sections. In addition, we have made it simpler within the program to optimize or develop your software application for Intel technology by eliminating the need to enroll in a partner initiative or technology enabling project. Instead, members will just create a software project for their application that then will provide them with the specific planning, development and marketing resources available to them for optimizing or developing for their target Intel technology. Our desire is to make it easy to enable for Intel technology. I'd love to hear what our members think of this new project process. I look forward to the feedback.

Jeff ... Welcome to the software blogs. I am really looking forward to hear what our customers have to say about the remodeled website. I would also like to hear more details on the exact changes that directly impact the developers specifically "Easier to speed your software development".

LOL. Jeff .. thanks for your response. I guess we were writing the comments almost at the same time. Looks like your comment did respond to my question. Thank you.

Hi! Jeff,
Congratulations. The new Partner portal looks good.
When the ISV logs & looks into the Dashboard they are unable to see what stage each of their projects are in until they click on each project individually. Unlike before where the ISV was able to look into “My Development Projects” tab and figure out in which phase like “Plan & Strategize”, “Develop & Solve” and “Market & Sell” the project was in. This is a good option to be adopted from the old website so that it becomes easier for the ISV’s to understand the stages/phases of his initiative. (Refer Screen shot for details).
Thanks and Regards,
Syed Amjad

Syed - Thanks for the congrats and your comments. With the release of the remodeled website, Software Partner Program no longer has partner initiatives or technology enabling projects that members have to join. The member just creates a software project for their application and can utilize planning, development and market & sell resources with the creation of their project. You no longer need to formally move from one "phase" to another. A member no longer has any initiative gates or hurdles to pass to go on to the "next phase". They can access planning, development and market & sell resources right from their project page with the creation of their project. So, a member's project is no longer going through the "phases". So, we have no need to show which "phase" a member's project is in. We do include on their project page a "Project Steps" chart that shows what step their project is current at and what is the next step to take.
As a clarification, certain market & sell resources do require that a member's software project (their application) is complete by submitting a "project completion report" before they can utilize program resources to go-to-market. You need to have your application completed before you can sell it. Entry into the Intel Developer Solution Catalog or the Intel Business Exchange are the ones that come to mind. I hope that helps clarify this for you. Let me know if you need further information. I appreciate you asking about this.

Well, it has been two weeks since we launched the remodeled Intel Software Partner Program website. on May 20, 2008. During these two weeks, we have been monitoring the site and securing comments from members and Intel staff regarding the changes. Feedback has been postive, but we have been alerted to a few minor issues and some areas that need some instructional changes to avoid user confusion. We are working quickly to address any issues and make adjustments as needed.
I want to thank the members that have reviewed the website and have forwarded their comments to our teams. We appreciate your feedback. If you have not visited the remodeled website, I invite you to take a walk-through of the website and send me your comments or any issues that you discover. I want to hear from you.
