It seems that lately everyone has been getting into my favorite hobby ... PC gaming!
It's so cool to have this interest becoming more mainstream - I can actually talk with people who play the games I play and I don't get weird looks like I'm from Mars. Well, of course sometimes I still do - but that's because I'm a geek and not just because I play PC games.
Gamers are always so interesting to speak with since most of them build their own machines with the best & fastest components to ensure they have the ultimate gaming experience. I have several rigs that I've built myself - my main one has an Intel® Core™2 Extreme processor (QX6700) and the performance just blows me away (and I'm not just saying that because I work at Intel!).
Never in my wildest dreams could I have imagined how far this industry would come -- I still remember my first gaming PC (an Atari 800XL) where I played David's Midnight Magic late into the night!
Gamers - and game developers - shouldn't miss some of the cool things that Intel is offering right now for game fanatics!:

more involved in PC games … are any of you participating in the Intel Crysis Mapping Contest or the UT3 Modding Contest? A blog was posted this week at Intel on the subject of Intel & gaming:http://softwareblogs.intel.com/2008/…ure-not-alone/

I'm somewhat new to the gaming madness so I appreciate the information on all the gaming news and events available via Intel.

Hey Gina - any woman that plays WoW hard core and can build her own box to boot wins no less than 5 gold stars in my book. But on more serious topics. I'm a Sr. Creative and strategist working for Saltmine collaboratively working with the VCDC group to develop click through campaigns to drive traffic to the VCDC site and community. One of my efforts has centralized around getting tuned in to the vibe of the developer community on the site, what is top of mind and being talked about in the threads and out in the greater developer community. My aim is to hone in on the right messaging strategy to further fuel growth and involvement in the forums and blogs from a broader cross section of the international game development community.
I'd love to hear your insights and opinions on the present community, not to mention which server your main is on - 2 years playing WoW and I still feel like a noob sometimes - as for UT3 mercy, I haven't even dared to venture there yet - as if WoW doesn't take up enough time. My mains are Eluidin, NE Fury Warrior and SamAdams, Drenai Healing Shamie - both on Windrunner.
Cheers,
Jay
