Blogger Dinner with Scoble in Portland this Thursday July 19

Jeremiah Owyang and Robert Scoble of Podtech are going to be in town this week, and we set up an informal Blogger Dinner on Thursday night. It's going to be held at Jive Software's offices in downtown Portland. Jive and Intel Software Network (my group) are going to be sponsoring food and drinks, so come on down and enjoy! There won't be any corporate "crap" from the sponsors - just a way to say "we love bloggers".

Jeremiah has a post up about the event, and created a page for it on Upcoming. Check out the details there, and RSVP if you're coming, so we have an idea about how much food and drink to get. The address is 317 SW Alder Suite 500, Portland, OR, and there are detail directions on the Upcoming event page. Start time is 6:00 PM.

Geek dinners with celebrities like Scoble and Jeremiah always draw a large crowd, so it should be lots of fun! If you're not in the area, keep an eye on our blogs, because with this crowd, there's likely to be lots of spontaneous live video streaming of the occasion. I'll be there with my camera, iPhone, and all my usual gadgets, so come say hi! :-)

links from Technoratito share any secrets, I can tell you that the focus on Social Media at Intel is moving at full steam. Out of the B2B tech companies, they’re one of the ones that are applying it to events, interacting with customers in communities such as Open Port, hosting blogger dinners, have a presence in SecondLife and are creating many videos and podcasts. For the most part, Intel gets it right, social media is being used by a wide group of marketers, and with varied levels of experimentation.
